Wawa has cut the ribbon on its newest Levittown-area store.

On Thursday morning, the doors were unlocked at the new Wawa with gas pumps on Cinder Lane between Bristol-Oxford Valley Road and Emilie Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.

About 50 employees will run the store that replaces two nearby stores along New Falls Road and Emilie Road.

Nancy St. Hilaire will serve as general manager of the new Levittown Wawa store.

The new location features the typical Wawa kitchen, Wawa drinks and dairy, and convenience store staples. The new Wawa also features fuel pumps and a beer section, which is part of the family-owned chain’s new initiative to expand beer sales in stores.

The first 100 customers received shirts that read “Goose Vibes Only.”

There was a hoagie making competition between the Bristol Township Police Department and Levittown Fire Company No. 2. The police officers won and Wawa will make a $2,000 donation to the Bucks County Heroes Scholarship Fund on the behalf of both teams.

Wawa staff members were recognized for being “day brighteners” who make the lives of co-workers and customer better during the festivities.

Construction on the new Wawa started earlier this year.

The older nearby store at the corner of New Falls Road and Bristol-Oxford Valley Road closed at the same time the doors to the new location opened about a thousand feet away. By 9 a.m., the signage at the just-closed location was already being taken down by Wawa staff.

The new store is Wawa’s 12th in the Levittown area. One additional store is under construction along Lincoln Highway in Falls Township.
