Levittown-Area Residents Sound Off On What They’d Do If They Won $1.2 Billion Powerball Jackpot

The Powerball jackpot has an estimated value of $1.2 billion, and Levittown-area residents are sounding off on what they would do with the winnings.

The prize for Wednesday night’s drawing will be the second-largest in Powerball’s 30-year history and the fourth-largest payout in American lottery history if a player wins it.

The Levittown-area has seen big lottery winners before, including the five people who claimed the massive winning $516 million Mega Millions ticket sold in Middletown Township’s Levittown section in 2021.

“Help my daughter financially, buy her a house, buy a house down the shore, open my own animal rescue, set up a college/nest egg for my grandson. Just a few that I can think of,” Christina Lopez said.

Amanda Marie O’Neill stated: “I would give half of it to my ex-husband so he could get a nice house and retire.”

“I would pay my parents house off, marry my girlfriend, buy our own house, two brand new cars and invest in the stock market. I’d pay off my student loans and continue to go to school for my dream job. The 1.2b jackpot would be a nice safety net,” Joe Lepley Jr. said.

“I would pay off all of my families and close friends debt, make sure my youngest has a trust fund, and help the veterans and homeless of Bucks County,” said Tracie McAllister.

Susan Partches Dunn said: “Pay off my son’s student loans, my debt and donate some to the Alzheimer’s Association and American Heart Association.”

“Take portion to split among family and friends. Take a portion and invest into Jay’s Steak and Hoagie Joint to go national. Take a portion to change random strangers lives. Buy myself a log cabin in the woods,” Jason Green said.

“Pay off debts, finish home renovations, some into accounts for the kids. Definitely buy my dream cars, a 56’ Cadillac ElDorado Biarritz and 67’ Impala,” Stephanie Taylor said.

“Pay off my debt, get my children and I our own place to live, help struggling family members and pay for a homeless shelter to be built,” Jamie Lynn said.

“Buy a cave far away from everyone and hide. We all know us Puerto Ricans have cousins we never met. They would definitely come out of nowhere once they find out I won,” Jose Rivera said.

“Pay off my home, my oldest son’s home, my sister’s home, buy my youngest son a home, remodel the family shared vacation home, remodel my pool, and travel to see national and international iconic places,” Shelly Tomlinson Carpenter said.

“I pay my ambulance bill from having a heart attack first and then donate to the homeless then pay my dad off set up a fun for my grandchildren for college,” said Florence Albeser Davis.

Mary Hulsizer Harris stated: “Pay off my debts. Help my family. Invest. And give some to Wounded Warrior project to help our wounded soldiers since I am the mother of 3 soldiers.”

“I always wanted to go to car shops and buy random people cars, and at a shoe store, give a random person in a store my card amd say whatever you fit in the cart ill buy and pay off lay aways,” Courtney Sims said.

“I would be out of debt and help all those who helped me out along the way with their debt,” Deb Quinlan said.

“Would buy my daughter a bigger house and pay for my grandchildrens college!!,” Katie Briggs said.

“Well it would be about 450M after taxes so I think I would campaign to end taxes,” Kevin Young said.

Jake Pysher stated: “Well…. Pay like $65% in taxes, not by choice.”

“Pay off debt, pay off homes for my siblings and best friend then I’d hire a private tutor for my daughter so we can do an endangered species tour spending a year working on conservation for each animal type: first would be African elephants followed by pandas in China and then I’d research which animals would follow. I’d also create a scholarship program for foster children and fund a non profit animal rescue for domesticated pets . With a billion dollars I’d be able to do charitable work which would make my life more fulfilling,” Joanne Taroco said.

“Pay off debt, buy a house, put money aside for my daughter, invest and live my life comfortably,” Arielle Reid said.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, Powerball, which is run in multiple states, holds the world record for largest jackpot set in 2016. The record $1.586 billion jackpot was shared by winners in California, Florida, and Tennessee.

The last Powerball jackpot winner in Pennsylvania was in August.

“We are currently witnessing some history in the making, as this is the largest Powerball prize in more than six years,” said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. “Pennsylvania players have the option to purchase their Powerball online or by visiting one of our retailers to pick up their tickets. Our players can feel good about the fact that proceeds generated from ticket sales go to help older residents of the Commonwealth.”

More than 6,100 Powerball tickets per minute were being sold in Pennsylvania as of Wednesday afternoon.
