At their meeting Tuesday evening, the school board voted to appoint 15-year Lower Southampton resident Carlos Rodriguez, a former police officer and director of security at Salus University, to fill the vacant Region 1 school board seat. He has a daughter who attends the district.
Rodriguez was sworn in by Bucks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Denise Bowman, a Neshaminy School District resident.
“I am eager to work alongside each and every one of you,” he said. “I am eager to work for the parents and students who attend Neshaminy schools.”

Rodriguez fills the seat left vacant when board member Stephen Linden resigned September 26.
Joshua Fineberg, of Middletown Township, and Dr. Tricia Loehrig, of Lower Southampton Township, also were interested in the seat, but Rodriguez gained support from the majority of the board.

Rodriguez said he plans to run for election next year to fill the seat for the long run.
Linden’s resignation was announced at the September 13 meeting.

School Board Vice President Tina Hollenbach said Liden “unexpectedly had to move out of the district.” She added that he didn’t wish to resign, but the move required it.

Liden was appointed in May by the school board to fill the seat left vacant when longtime board member Stephen Pirritano resigned.
