
The investigation into the death of a 40-year-old bicyclist along New Falls Road late Wednesday evening remains under investigation as of Friday.

The crash happened at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday on New Falls Road in the area of Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Bristol Township’s Levittown section.
“The preliminary investigation shows that a 2016 Ford Mustang was traveling east on eastbound New Falls Road. A bicyclist was traveling south across New Falls Road from the westbound lane into the eastbound lane. The bicyclist was struck by the Ford Mustang in the eastbound lane of New Falls Road,” police said in a statement.
The bicyclist was trapped under the Mustang and firefighters had to remove them by lifting the car.

The name of the bicyclist wasn’t released, but police confirmed he was a 40-year-old man from Fairless Hills. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Penndel-Middletown Rescue Squad.
The 46-year-old female Mustang driver, of Morrisville, stopped and has been cooperating with police, the statement said.

The Levittown No. 2, Newportville, and Penndel fire companies responded, along with Bucks County Rescue Squad and Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad.
