
PA CareerLink Bucks County cut the ribbon on their new facility in Lower Bucks County Wednesday.
With a large group of elected officials, nonprofit staff, and business leaders watching, the new facility at the Bucks County Technology Park at 4800 East Street Road Suite 50 in Bensalem Township was officially opened.

“Our goal is to serve as the leading source of employment connections, information, resources and opportunities for Bucks County job seekers and employers,” said Billie Barnes, executive director of the Bucks County Department of Workforce and Economic Development. “Bucks County boasts job opportunities at all levels and in a wide variety of fields and industries. We are thrilled to welcome the community to PA CareerLink Bucks County’s new location in the heart of Lower Bucks, which offers a full range of services for the county’s workforce all under one roof.”

Bucks County Commissioners Chairperson Bob Harvie, a Democrat, celebrated the opening and called on attendees to think about their experiences of starting a new job. He said many need PA CareerLink to prepare themselves for their new job and earn that feeling.

“This center has done that for a long time, and it will continue to do that in a new setting,” he said.

Commissioner Gene DiGirolamo, a Republican, welcomed the center to his hometown of Bensalem Township.

PA CareerLink Bucks County highlighted the following benefits of the new facility.
- Improved access to public transportation, with two direct SEPTA bus stops and SEPTA’s Trevose Station nearby
- A newly renovated computer lab with more than a dozen computer stations for job seekers
- Modernized workshop spaces and meeting rooms for employers to connect with job seekers
- An out-of-school youth center for individuals ages 16 to 24 who are disconnected from education and need assistance with attaining their GED and career services
- Workspace for approximately 40 PA CareerLink staff members and partners, including Bucks County Area Agency on Aging, Bucks County Assistance Office, Bucks County Community College, Bucks County Opportunity Council, Bureau of Workforce Partnership and Operations, Career Wardrobe, Educational Data Systems Inc., Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and Vita Education Services
- Childcare at a neighboring on-campus facility that accepts drop-ins
- 24/7 on-site security
“This increased accessibility coincides with a particularly challenging job market, making such a resource key to economic recovery throughout the county,” Harvie said.
Minesh Pathak, executive director of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, welcomed the center and highlighted the job fair that was being held.

The job fair featured employers ranging from small and medium-sized businesses to Amazon.
The center provides job seekers with numerous benefits, including workforce counselors, free training and certification opportunities and supportive services like mileage reimbursement, childcare assistance, access to laptops and smartphones, wardrobe assistance, weekly hot jobs, and layoff and rapid response intervention.

PA CareerLink Bucks County’s move from an office space along Veterans Highway (Route 413) in Bristol Township to Bensalem Township has been in the making for several years.
The last location was the center’s home for more than 20 years.

Harvie noted how important the PA CareerLink Bucks County services are amid a tight labor market with low unemployment where businesses are desperately seeking trained workers.
