Law enforcement sources said the remains were recovered late in the day Sunday by a group of area teens who were in the Maple Beach area of the township near the Burlington-Bristol Bridge. Police activity was spotted by a LevittownNow.com reader on Maple Avenue off Route 413.

The sources said a decomposing body was located and the coroner’s office was called along with Bristol Township detectives.

The remains appeared to belong to a male and were found at the former tennis courts that are now often used by teens for skating, a parent of the teens who found the body said.
