Sysco Schruby, 22, was found guilty Wednesday at the end of a three-day trial at the Bucks County Justice Center in Doylestown Borough on charges of aggravated assault – attempting to cause serious bodily injury, two counts of aggravated assault – attempting to cause serious injury with a deadly weapon, one count of carrying a firearm without a license, one count of possession of an instrument of crime, and six counts of recklessly endangering another person, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office.
Bucks County Judge Jeffrey Finley pushed sentencing to a later date.
Schruby was charged last March in connection to a shooting that happened following an encounter at the Rodeway Inn at the corner of Green Lane and Route 13 in Bristol Township on the evening of November 22, 2019.

According to authorities, Schruby encountered William “Bam-Bam” Flemming III, 30, of Bristol Township, and the two exchanged words. Schruby allegedly remarked “do you think it’s a f**king game?” and “you snitch ass not allowed around here.”
Schruby left in the rear seat of a Honda and was spotted on security camera footage holding a gun out the window and then firing shots at Flemming and others, including a 4-year-old girl, authorities said.

Flemming was accused of pulling out a gun and firing shots back at Schruby as the Honda he was in left the area.
No one was injured in the shooting.
One witness told an officer the shooting might have been retaliation for Flemming being a witness in a past nearly-decade-old shooting case.

The investigation involved tips called into police and the FBI. It led to a grand jury being convened to probe the shooting.
Security camera footage played in court showed the shooting take place.

Schruby claimed during the trial that he didn’t fire the gun and it may have been someone else.
The prosecutor called Schruby’s claim a “sham story.”

Deputy District Attorney Edward Louka told the jury this week about the shooting and how people were nearby.
“This didn’t have to happen but for the defendant’s actions,” he said.

Flemming was charged last year with carrying a firearm without a license and reckless endangerment in connection to the shooting. He pleaded guilty to firearms not to be carried without a license last September and was sentenced to 2 1/2 years to 6 years of confinement. He was also ordered by Bucks County Judge Brian McGuffin to not have contact with Schruby.
