The organizers of the Bucks County St. Patrick’s Day Parade made the call Thursday evening.

The parade, which was set to return Saturday after a two-year break due to COVID-19, has been cancelled due to the forecast of rain and snow in the area.
“It is with a heavy heart that we make this decision. With the unchanging weather forecast we must think of our participants and viewers, and that means we must cancel this year’s parade,” the parade committee said in a statement.
While the parade along New Falls Road in Bristol Township and Falls Townships’ Levittown sections won’t happen this year, some annual festivities will continue to take place.

At 8 a.m. Saturday, a mass will take place at Conwell-Egan Catholic High School at 611 Wistar Road.
A celebration, called a Hoolie, will take place at noon inside the Ancient Order of Hibernians at 614 Corson Street in Bristol Borough.

The theme for 2022 parade was set to be “Sláinte is Táinte,” which translates to health and wealth.
Bill Ryan, vice president of governmental affairs at the Einstein Health Network, was selected as the grand marshal for the now-cancelled parade.
The parade, which started in 1989, hasn’t taken place since 2019.

Parade organizers asked the public to look forward to a parade in 2023.
