Borough officials discovered the Bristol Borough Wharf along the Delaware River formed a sinkhole in the wake of last July’s monster soaker that caused serious flash flooding in Lower Bucks County.
Amanda Fuller, an engineer with Gilmore and Associates, told Bristol Borough Council this week that divers recently discovered the sinkhole along the wharf.
The voids in the wharf will be filled with epoxy with the aim to remedy the sinkhole issue, Fuller said.

Speaking of fixing the problem, Fuller said it might be trial and error to repair the issue at first.
“There should be a positive to fix that situation,” Fuller said.

Officer Charles Palmer was promoted to acting sergeant in the department.
Officials said the police contract requires the borough to appoint a new acting sergeant if one of the positions is left vacant. Presently, Sgt. Joe Moors is serving as the leader of the department while the borough works to fill the open police chief job.
