A registered sex offender is back in trouble with the law, according to court records.
Brian E. Simmons, 66, of Falls Township, was arrested Thursday by Bucks County Detectives and Bensalem Township police after a child pornography investigation which began last month.

Investigators were probing internet sharing of child porn when they tracked a connection to a Falls Township address, detectives said.
An investigator was able to download 476 files and found several contained alleged child porn, authorities said.
Some of the files were of adult men forcing sex acts on young girls, detectives said.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered Simmons was connected to the IP address, detectives said.
A law enforcement database reviewed as part of the investigation showed Simmons’ IP address was active on a network associated with nearly 72,000 “files of interest,” authorities said.

According to court papers, Simmons is a Megan’s Law Tier 1 sex offender and was convicted of possession of child porn in 2015.
While being questioned during his 2015 arrest, he told investigators he had an “addiction” to child porn. He stated he would often delete the files for fear of detection, experience guilt, and would become depressed afterwards.
Simmons was arraigned Thursday by District Judge Jan Vislosky with dissemination of photo or film of child sex acts, child pornography, and criminal use of a communication facility. He was sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $75,000.
