State and local police will be stepping up patrols for dangerous drivers over the holiday weekend.
Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub said 15 officers from 10 local departments will be conducting DUI patrols on Thanksgiving Eve, which is Wednesday.

The departments taking part are: Bensalem Township, Bedminster Township, Middletown Township, Penndel Borough, Newtown Township, New Britain Township, Richland Township, Warrington Township, Warwick Township, and Upper Southampton.
The night before Thanksgiving is typically known as a party holiday.
Pennsylvania State Police in the area said they will be ramp up their traffic enforcement efforts Wednesday through Sunday.

Troopers will be looking for drivers who are intoxicated behind the wheel, texting while driving, and recklessly operating their vehicles.
Troopers with special DUI and aggressive driving detection skills will be deployed, according to state police.

โTroopers will be proactively patrolling the roadways throughout the Troop to keep motorists safe this Thanksgiving holiday,โ said Captain Derek Koch, commander of Troop M.
During the Thanksgiving holiday weekend in 2019, troopers in Lehigh, Northampton, and Bucks counties investigated a total of 72 crashes and made 45 DUI arrests. Those numbers don’t include statistics from local police departments.
