In Region 3 for a two-year term, Democrat Jeannine Delwiche scored more votes than Republican Frank Cabanas.

Region 3’s two four-year term seats were won by Democrats Joanna Steere and Linda Palsky. Republicans Jennifer Spillane and Tim Watkins lost their efforts to take those seats.

Significant attention was paid to the race due to Pennsbury’s size, recent problems in the district, its health and safety plan, and contentious public comment sessions. At times, the races were contentious as candidates made their cases to voters.

School board members oversee school districts. They establish policies and regulations, evaluate results of the schools, adopt courses and textbooks, hire staff, levy taxes, deal with facilities, and suspend or expel pupils from school under certain conditions.
