The website hosting updated election results for Bucks County failed Tuesday night.
As residents, journalists, and campaigns were tracking the results of the 2021 general election in the hours after polls closed, the website crashed and results were not updated.
The Bucks County Board of Elections said in a statement just before 11 p.m. that the “election night reporting vendor is experiencing widespread technical issues across several counties.”
“We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see the site up and running as soon as possible. In the meantime, view a summary PDF of unofficial election results,” the statement said, directing the public to a 764-page document with preliminary tallies.
County officials continued tallying in-person and mail-in votes. They expected to wrap up vote counting early Wednesday.
The county election results website has crashed before. It failed in 2019 and was down for about two hours.
