An international pop star pleaded no contest to charges of harassment in Bucks County this week.

Pop star and former One Direction member Zayn J. Malik, 28, who has an address Pipersville, pleaded no contest Wednesday to four counts of harassment in District Judge Maggie Snow’s court. He was charged by Solebury Township police in connection with a domestic argument that happened around 11 a.m. on September 29, according to court documents reviewed by LevittownNow.com.

Celebrity news site TMZ broke the news Friday that Malik had been in a “nuclear argument” with TV star and former model Yolanda Hadid and her daughter Gigi Hadid, a model and mother of a young child with Malik. The incident reportedly happened at a residential property rumored to be home to Malik, the younger Hadid, and their daughter in Solebury Township.

Documents reviewed by this news organization stated the domestic incident involved Malik shoving Yolanda Hadid into a dresser and arguing with her. He also cursed, asked Gigi Hadid to defend him, and attempted to fight with a security guard.

Malik released a statement Friday that read: “I adamantly deny striking Yolanda Hadid and for the sake of my daughter I decline to give any further details and I hope that Yolanda will reconsider her false allegations and move towards healing these family issues in private.”

Malik was sentenced in district court to 360 days of probation. He must complete anger management, comply with probation rules, screen for domestic violence supervision, and have no contact with Yolanda Hadid or the security guard who works for her.

On Friday, a request for “probation/parole supervision” was filed for Malik at the Bucks County Justice Center, according to public records.

Malik paid a little more than $250 in court fines and fees.

The news rocked the celebrity world Friday with outlets from gossip magazines to the BBC reporting on the story. The topic was among the most trending on Twitter.

No attorney for Malik was listed on court papers.

County property records show Yolanda Hadid purchased her roughly 30-acre Solebury Township farm through a Los Angeles-registered company for $3.9 million in 2017. The farm was previously owned by a high-power New York City attorney and his photographer wife. The Solebury Township residence where the incident happened was purchased last year by an LLC for $750,000.

In a 2018 GQ story, Malik told the reporter he purchased a farm in Pennsylvania on the advice of Yolanda Hadid. He said the farm and Pennsylvania were “cool.”
