A large warehouse operated by a company that works with chemical firms is seeking to expand.

B&J Group representatives came before the Falls Township Board of Supervisors earlier this week requesting feedback on three separate additions to their warehouse at 1001 New Ford Mill Road. The additions would total 56,000 square feet, while the existing building is 178,000 square feet.

The plans call for a green roof for one of the sections of the addition to offset going over the township’s limit on impervious service, according to Wayne Keefer, the engineer for the project.

The warehouse stores numerous types of chemicals, including flammable ones.

An attorney for the property owner said the facility has operated safely and been in contact with the fire marshal’s office about the addition.

B&J Group committed to giving trees to the township for planting.

B&J Group plans to go before the Falls Township Zoning Hearing Board to seek a waiver for impervious surface. They could come before the supervisors for final approval in early 2022.
