The Neshaminy School District will be rolling out an app that will help parents monitor the location of their student’s bus or van.

The district is expanding access to an app called Here Comes The Bus, which is free for iPhone and Android users. The expansion is on a school-by-school basis, the district said in their newsletter to parents.

The app will allow parents to “manage their student’s transportation to and from school and monitor the location of their school bus or van in real time,” the district said.

The app from California-based Synovia is used by more than 330 school districts in North America. Here Comes The Bus falls under the same corporate umbrella as LoJack, according to the company.

Families at Carl Sandburg Middle School and Albert Schweitzer Elementary School will be the first to be able to use Here Comes The Bus, officials said.

The district plans to expand use of the app to all schools by the end of November.

Neshaminy tested a similar system in 2019.
