A Bucks County Correctional Facility inmate was found dead Saturday, officials confirmed Sunday.
The male inmate was taken from the Doylestown Township jail to Doylestown Hospital Saturday afternoon. The inmate was pronounced dead at the hospital, county spokesperson James O’Malley said.

A source said the inmate was found suffering life-threatening injuries in the shower area.
The Bucks County Department of Corrections and Bucks County Detectives are investigating the death, O’Malley said.
In the past six years, Bucks County has reported four inmate suicides, one homicide, and several medical-related deaths at the correctional facility, according to Pennsylvania Department of Correction’s extraordinary occurrence statistics.
