The school board voted to approve an agreement to pay Shaffer $742.50 per day with no benefits or additional pension contribution. About $250 of the daily rate will be paid to the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, which has coordinated the interim superintendent job.
Minniti is leaving the Bristol Borough School District after joining in summer 2019. He was hired by the New Hope-Solebury School Board in August for the newly-created position of assistant superintendent.
Shaffer told LevittownNow.com when he retired that he wanted to catch up on reading and travel. He has worked as a teacher an administrator and also a volunteer firefighter.
