Falls Twp. Welcomes Two New Officers

The Falls Township Police Department welcomed two new officers this week.

The Falls Township Supervisors approved hiring officers Timothy Bishop and Dean Stecklair at their Monday meeting.

In a statement, the township said Bishop, of Philadelphia, has served in the Philadelphia Police Department since 2019. He was on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps from 2013 to 2018 before being honorably discharged at the rank of sergeant. Bishop earned an associate’s degree in accounting from the University of Maryland.

Stecklair, of Northampton Township, has worked as an Amtrak police officer since 2010. He previously served as a volunteer firefighter and union carpenter. He is married and has three kids. Stecklair earned an associate’s degree in applied science from Thaddeus Stevens College.

Police Chief Nelson Whitney said the two new officers fill positions opened by retirements. The department now has 53 uniformed officers.
