The COVID-19 test positivity rate in Bucks County last week fell to .8 percent, the lowest level seen since last year.

The county had just 56 new COVID-19 infections reported last week, the lowest level since March 2020, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data.

The test positivity rate and case numbers have dropped in recent weeks as more and more people have been vaccinated. A test positivity rate lower than five percent for more than two weeks means health experts consider the spread controlled.

“Of Bucks County’s 54 municipalities, more than 25 have recorded fewer than 10 new cases during the past month, including six municipalities that had none,” county health officials said.

The deaths of seven Bucks Countians with COVID-19 were reported last week, bringing the month’s total to 14.
