School taxes in Bristol Borough won’t be increasing this year.
At their meeting last week, the Bristol Borough School Board voted to approve a $24.8 million budget that doesn’t include a tax increase for the fiscal year running July 1 to June 30, 2022.

The new budget is only about a 1 percent increase over last year’s spending.
Business Manager Christopher McHugh said the district saw revenue increase from the real estate transfer tax and savings from bond refinancing.
McHugh said during the May school board meeting that the district is budgeting that state funding levels will remain around the same rate for the new fiscal year.

The 2021-2022 budget factors in increasing staff costs, rising cyber school tuition, and a growing special education price tag.
The Bristol Borough School District has kept the tax rate the same since 2011.
