Two of the four remaining Bucks County-supported mass COVID-19 vaccination sites will be closing in July.

As vaccination rates increase, fewer larger clinics are needed, officials said.

The mass vaccination sites at Bucks County Community College’s campuses in Newtown Township and just outside of Perkasie will be closed after July 3. The clinic at the campus in Bristol Township closed late last month.

Pharmacies and medical facilities will continue to offer COVID-19 vaccinations unaffected by the county’s changes.

County officials said the inoculation sites at the Neshaminy Mall and in Warwick Township will keep operating, but they will operate at reduced schedule from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 6 to July 9 and July 12 to July 16.

Through July 3, all the county clinics will keep their current hours, officials said.

“The county previously had scheduled the last two community college sites to close later in July, but moved up its plans in response to shrinking demand at its mass vaccination clinics. The clinics operated in February and were critical in the countyโ€™s mass-inoculation efforts, which have so far delivered more than 155,000 doses of vaccine,” officials said in a statement.

The county will continue to operate vaccination strike teams that target vulnerable communities. They also plan to expand education and add pop-up clinics at community events throughout Bucks County.
