A woman has been charged with unlawfully using a man’s bank account.

Middletown Township police learned in late 2018 that a resident at Woods Service had alleged banking discrepancies. The man has a memory disorder and was taken to the bank to withdraw spending cash weekly.

A detective pulled financial records from September 2017 to January 2019, according to court records.

A review of the bank statements showed multiple transactions with Amazon and QVC. The purchases were not shipped to the man’s address and totaled $6,628, police said.

The man was unable to be interviewed by police due to his memory condition.

The purchases made from QVC and Amazon accounts were linked to 65-year-old Valerie Gravuer, of Bensalem Township, who was one of two women who would take the man to the bank, according to court papers.

Gravuer was charged with theft; forgery; access device is counterfeit altered, or incomplete; access device fraud; possess an access device that is knowingly counterfeit or altered; receiving stolen property; identity theft; obstruct administration of law; and tamper with or fabricate physical evidence. She was arraigned last month by District Judge John Kelly and released on $25,000 unsecured bail.
