COVID-19 cases in Bucks County are dropping.
The county had 1,143 new infections last week, a 28 percent drop over the week prior and a 42 percent drop over the past month, according to Pennsylvania Department of Health data.

The test positivity rate for last week fell from 9.5 percent to 7.3 percent. A rate of 5 percent or more is considered concerning by health officials.
The county had 22 COVID-19 deaths last week.
Hospitalizations have dropped in recent weeks after a rise earlier this spring. The county ended last week with 72 COVID-19 patients in hospitals and four in critical condition on ventilators, according to state data.

The new infection numbers starting this week also were low. Sunday had 89 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest single-day new case number since mid-March.
“[Sunday] we had less than 100 positive cases in Bucks County. Right now there are less than 10 people in the ICU, and less than five on ventilators,” Bucks County Health Department Director Dr. David Damsker said in a statement. “We are winning this fight.”

Since the pandemic began, 58,791 Bucks Countians have had COVID-19 and 1,252 have died.
