Projects in Falls Township and one in Tullytown Borough recently were awarded state grant funds.
The $125,000 in funds came through the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED). They were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority as funds authorized by Act 13, according to State Sen. Steve Santarsiero and State Rep. John Galloway, both Democrats.

Falls Township was approved for $55,029 through the Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program for improvements to the roller hockey rink at Falls Township Community Park. The work includes repairs to the existing rink, specifically installing new boards, repainting the surface and repairing existing fencing.
In Tullytown Borough, $70,000 will go toward the Watershed Restoration Protection Program for the construction of two rain gardens and a vegetate swale, which will help improve the impaired watershed of Martins Creek.
