The restoration work for the public roller hockey rink in Falls Township has been delayed.
At their meeting last week, the Falls Township Board of Supervisors planned to award a bid for upgrades for the rink at Falls Township Community Park. However, Township Engineer Joe Jones said only one bid was received and the amount was higher than the project’s budget.

The township plans to readvertise the work after making some modifications to the scope of the project.
The township is seeking to update the look of the outdoor roller hockey rink, resurface it, replace the dasher board, restore the fencing, mark the surface, and seal cracks.
The township applied for a Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program grant from the Commonwealth Financing Authority that could bring in $138,988.60 of the projected total $163,516 project cost to the township.

Parks and Recreation Director Brian Andrews said recently that he expects to hear soon if the township is awarded the grant.
