The under-construction Wawa on East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township is proposed to have a new drive-thru window.

The Middletown Township Zoning Hearing Board recently approved the change to the planned 5,000-square-foot convivence store with gas pumps along East Lincoln Highway in Middletown Township. The location is across from the Penndel-Middletown Emergency Squad building.

Wawa aims to construct a double-lane ordering area that will merge into one lane leading up to the drive-thru window attached to the store.

The plans for the store with the drive-thru.

Wawa has started adding drive-thru windows to planned stores. The proposed store on Lincoln Highway in Falls Township is among the locations.

Wawa opened a 1,800-square-foot drive-thru only location earlier this year next to the existing Wawa convenience store with a gas station and the Rite Aid at the corner of West Trenton Avenue and Pine Grove Road in the Morrisville section of Falls Township in January. It was the company’s first standalone drive-thru and only one as of now.

The new Middletown Township Wawa will have a main entrance and exit along Lincoln Highway. A traffic signal will be added.

The location for the Wawa along busy East Lincoln Highway is close to I-295 and not far from Route 1. It sits under a mile from the Wawa on Trenton Road and just two miles from the Wawa with a gas station on Oxford Valley Road, both in Middletown Township.
