Reckless motorcycle riders and the rise in illegal quad use on borough streets are a growing problem and one that could lead to a tragic crash.
Mayor Joe Saxton called the problem “extremely challenging.” He encouraged residents to report those behind the illegal rides to police and take photos and submit them to police.
The problem has grown in major cities, like Philadelphia and New York City, in recent years.

The mayor said the problem is also hitting small towns like Bristol Borough.
“This is becoming a common problem throughout the country. In an attempt to avert a tragedy, the Bristol Borough police are asking the public’s assistance in an attempt to stop this dangerous problem,” police Chief Steve Henry said.

Saxton said some of the riders are extremely young.
“Parents, I don’t know why you’re buying kids quads and motorcycles that can’t ride on a public street,” the mayor said during Monday’s council meeting.
Police are advising residents they can submit tips via Crimewatch and also send video and images of the riders. Those who submit tips can remain anonymous.
