Falls Township police and Amazon’s security department have stepped up their presence after an alleged threat.

A soon-to-be former employee for the massive international retailer threaten to “shoot this place up” after being reprimanded by a logistics contractor working for Amazon at the company’s new distribution hub on Geoffrey Road in Falls Township on March 18, according to police.

“On his way out of the door, he threaten to shoot the place up,” police Chief Nelson Whitney said while briefing the Falls Township Board of Supervisors Monday evening.

The former employee – identified by Whitney and court papers as James T. Freeman Jr., 24, of Trenton – was notified shortly after the March 18 incident by Amazon that he was terminated from his job as a delivery driver.

An arrest warrant for Freeman on charges of terroristic threats, harassment, and disorderly conduct has been filed. Whitney said police are still seeking the 24-year-old man.

“We’ve worked with Amazon security at the site. That’s an ongoing process with them,” the chief said.

According to the arrest warrant, Freeman deviated from his delivery route more than once, which is against company policy. He also had an unauthorized passenger in his van during a stop on Canterbury Road in the township. Freeman and the logistics contractor had an argument and Freeman threatened to “f**k you up.” The shooting threat was made after another disturbance back at the warehouse and after he shoved the logistics contractor.
