County Opens Pre-Registration For COVID-19 Vaccinations For Essential Workers, Businesses

Essential workers and businesses are able to pre-register with the Bucks County Health Department as Phase 1B and Phase 1C of COVID-19 inoculation process approaches.

Bucks County is presently on Phase 1A under the state’s plan. The first section includes health care workers, emergency medical service personnel, pharmacists, and long-term care residents and staff.

Phase 1B includes people 75 and older, first responders, food and agricultural workers, grocery store workers, people in congregate living settings, and education workers. Phase 1C will include residents age 16 to 74 who have high-risk illnesses, those age 65 to 74, public safety workers, construction workers, logistics workers, government employees in key agencies, infrastructure workers, media, and bank tellers.

Phase 1B is expected to begin next month and Phase 1C will come after.

Qualifying individuals and businesses who pre-register will receive a notification when they are able to schedule an appointment.

Pennsylvanians who are not working at essential businesses but qualify for the vaccine will be able to acquire it through health care professionals and pharmacies. At some point, there could be large vaccination clinics opened, according to state officials.

Phase 2 is not expected until spring at the soonest and would include the general population, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Health.

As of Friday, there have been 14,096 partial doses and 3,249 full doses of COVID-19 vaccines administered in Bucks County, according to state data.

Long-term care center residents and staff are receiving vaccinations through pharmacy partners. Area hospitals are providing doses to their staff and the county opened a clinic in Middletown Township for emergency service workers.
