In a year of uncertainty, one thing is certain – our communities care.

The United Way of Bucks County’s annual Holiday Gift Card Drive reached its goal of helping 1,750 older kids and teens who otherwise may have not received anything.

The charity drive provided each older child and teen with about $35 worth of gift cards they can use to shop or get a quick bite when they’re with friends.

While toy drives serve younger kids, older kids and teens from families in need often miss out.

LevittownNow.com readers, local organizations, neighbors, and businesses from around the area stepped up to donation to the Holiday Gift Card Drive.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who supported the gift card drive this year. Without the support of our community, it wouldn’t have been possible to serve the children on our list. Happy Holidays!” said Faith Parkinson, the United Way of Bucks County project lead.

This year, the United Way of Bucks County, which is based in Falls Township, expected to serve about 1,500 tweens and teens, but that number grew to 1,750 in the final weeks. The gift card drive helped 1,600 older kids and teens in 2019 and 1,200 in 2018.
