Pennsbury Plans All Virtual Classes During First Week Of 2021

The Pennsbury School District has opted to return to all-virtual classes the week after winter break.

Last week, the school board voted to switch to all virtual learning from Monday, January 4 through Friday, January 8.

Superintendent Dr. William Gretzula said the move is to “ensure the health and safety of students and staff and to maintain adequate staffing capacity beyond the winter break.”

The district issued a letter to parents Tuesday alerting them of the COVID-19 mitigation measure.

The hybrid model is expected to return on Monday, January 11.

Following the Thanksgiving holiday, Bucks County saw an uptick in COVID-19 cases and deaths. Health officials have raised worry that potential gatherings over the holidays could cause a repeat following the holiday break.
