The Bristol Township School District will pause their hybrid model for the first week of the year.
The district will return to virtual only from Monday, January 4 to Friday, January 8 to “allow for mitigation from the holidays,” Superintendent Dr. Melanie Gehrens said in a letter to parents.

The district cited the uptick in COVID-19 cases following the Thanksgiving holiday weekend as the impetus for the move.
“We expect the same for after Christmas and New Year celebrations,” Gehrens said of a potential case spike.
The district’s in-person hybrid model for students will resume Monday, January 11.

Gehrens mentioned the move to revert to virtual following the holiday break was being considered during last week’s school board meeting.
Starting in November and continuing until last week, the district began welcoming students back under a hybrid model that splits students into “black” and “gold” groups. The one group attends in-person classes Monday and Thursday, with the other group showing up Tuesday and Friday. For the days each group is not in classrooms, they take part in school virtually. Wednesdays are virtual for all students.
