The campaign of President Donald Trump tried to appeal a decision blocking their request to deny about 2,000 Bucks County mail-in and absentee ballots from being counted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, but the campaign’s efforts were rebuffed Tuesday morning.
The state’s top court issued an order late Tuesday morning denying the Trump campaign’s emergency request to apply for an appeal.

The outgoing president’s campaign has claimed that the Bucks County Board of Elections did not follow state election code and guidance in counting the roughly 2,000 votes that had minor errors or defects. Some of the petitions singled out by the Trump campaign had unsealed privacy envelopes or incomplete dates.
A Bucks County judge and a state court previously shot down the campaign’s petition to toss the ballots.
An attorney for the Bucks County Board of Elections stated at a hearing at the Justice Center last month that the mistakes were minor and no ill-intent was discovered. Attorneys for the Democratic National Committee, Bucks County Democratic Committee, and PA House Democratic Committee argued the ballots should be counted.

Bucks County reported 398,797 ballots cast for the general election out of 487,986 registered voters. Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the presidential election by earning 17,345 more votes than Trump.
In Bucks County court, the president’s campaign stated there was no evidence of fraud, misconduct, impropriety, and undue influence in the county’s election. Local Democrats and Republicans have made similar statements that there was no fraud.

Federal, state and local law enforcement and federal homeland security officials have reported no evidence of widespread fraud in the state or nation despite claims by the president and some of his allies.
