The traffic signals at the Five Points intersection in Levittown will be upgraded.

Bristol Township has been awarded $199,315 for the replacement of all existing signal equipment at the intersection New Falls, Woodbourne, Edgely, and Bristol-Emilie roads, one of the busiest intersections in the area and one that sits on the Middletown Township border, according to State Rep. Tina Davis, a Democrat from Bristol Township.

โ€œMotorists and pedestrians alike will be safer thanks to the replacement of all existing signal equipment at the Five Points intersection of New Falls, Woodbourne, Edgely and Bristol-Emilie roads in Bucks County,” Davis said.

Gov. Tom Wolf’s office and PennDOT said the project is funded by money raised through fines from Automated Red Light Enforcement at 31 intersections in Philadelphia.

Aside from the Five Points project, numerous other traffic and intersection upgrades were funded through the program statewide.

โ€œThese improvements complement PennDOTโ€™s ongoing work to improve safety and mobility across Pennsylvania,” Wolf said.

The selected projects were picked by an eight-member committee, and selections were based on criteria such as safety benefits and effectiveness, cost, and local and regional impact. ย
