There are those who do and those who doughnut.
Middletown Township police Officer Melissa Robison took to kitchen at Duck Donuts in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center Tuesday afternoon and evening as a special doughnut maker for charity.

The officer helps organize the popular Shop With A Cop program that allows the purchase Christmas gifts for area kids in need. The doughnut making event helped raise funds for the upcoming Shop With A Cop.
Behind the counter, Robison topped made-to-order doughnuts ranging from maple bacon to cookie for customers. The shop had a donation bucket and gave a portion of their sales to the Shop With A Cop program, which is handled through the nonprofit Middletown Community Foundation.
“This was Officer Missy’s idea, and exactly what we wanted to do. We want to help in the community,” said Mildred Miller, who owns the Duck Donuts location with her husband.

Robison said there are about 400 kids who will receive gifts this year through Shop With A Cop. The program is supported by donations, including from a number of area businesses.
The Shop With A Cop event, which will take place early next month at the Target in Middletown Township, involves officers and kids from the township, Newtown Borough, Newtown Township, Northampton Township, Upper Makefield Township, and Warminster Township.
