Law enforcement has a message for those celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday weekend: don’t get cooked and drive.
Police departments across Bucks County will be on the lookout for impaired drivers and will take part in a countywide enforcement detail Wednesday evening from 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. on Thanksgiving.

District Attorney Matt Weintraub said there will be “heightened patrols to keep us safe.”
“Remember, if you drive hammered, you get nailed,” he added.
Pennsylvania State police will be running their Operation Safe Holiday enforcement drive over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

The effort will involve DUI enforcement patrols with “zero tolerance toward drivers impaired by drugs or alcohol,” according to state police.
โDUI is a serious crime that puts Pennsylvanians at risk every day, but it is also 100 percent preventable,โ said state police Major Bruce Williams, director of the bureau of patrol. โPSP and its local law enforcement partners have zero tolerance toward driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.โ

Troopers will also look to make sure drivers and front-seat passengers are buckled up, and kids are secured in properly installed child safety seats.
