Two Pennsylvania State Police vehicles were struck as troopers moved to end a high-speed chase that whipped through Bristol Borough and Bristol Township on Saturday.
On Saturday around 1:30 p.m., a trooper patrolling I-95 northbound in Bristol Township spotted a white Hyundai Elantra going slightly above the speed limit, state police said.

When the trooper went to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle abruptly went for the exit and raced off, reaching speeds of more than 100 MPH, state police said.
The chase went on road shoulders, residential neighborhoods, and a gas station. The vehicle reached speeds of 90 MPH through the neighborhoods and ignored stop signs, troopers said.
The crash ended in the area of Veterans Highway (Route 413) and Western Avenue when two troopers boxed in the vehicle. Both state police vehicles were struck, troopers said.

A state police official said there were no serious injuries. A trooper was treated at the scene by medics for a minor injury.
The driver was identified as John Anthony Spadaro, 37, of Philadelphia.

Spadaro was arraigned Saturday afternoon by on-call District Judge Jan Vislosky on charges of aggravated assault, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, careless driving, and related traffic offenses. He was jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $75,000 bail.
