Several Bucks County organizations, a municipality, and a county offender probation program have received state funds.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency will be providing $8.2 million through the state Victims Services Advisory Committee and in line with the Federal Victims of Crime Act, according to State Sen. Steve Santarsiero, a Democrat from Lower Makefield. The funds will go toward the following nonprofits:
- Network of Victim Assistance will receive $4,481,387.
- A Woman’s Place will receive $2,127,215.
- Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania will receive $1,689,915.
Bucks County will receive $216,000 in intermediate punishment treatment funds from the Pennsylvania County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee to support the restrictive probation program, which is a sentencing alternative for people who commit nonviolent crimes.
