A presentation scheduled for June by Bristol Borough’s Grundy Museum was cancelled due to the pandemic, but it will be streamed online this week.
Bristol Borough resident Eros Leroi will present “Corsets and Cummerbunds: Fashion Throughout the Ages” in an online format on the museum’s YouTube channel. The channel will go live on YouTube Thursday and also feature information on the museum grounds, the Grundy family, restoration projects, and other topics.

Leroi’s presentation moving online required the museum staff to get creative. A freshly wallpapered bedroom in the museum was converted a makeshift studio.
The museum staff accepted an in-kind donation that was given by local musician Frank Butrey. He composed the song “Melody for Margaret” for use in all of the museum’s YouTube videos and other content.
Grundy Museum staff said they are working to keep in touch with the public while the facility remains closed for in-person visits due to COVID-19 and ongoing restoration work.

Corsets and Cummerbunds: Fashion Throughout the Ages host Leroi is volunteer at the museum and a master craftsman in the art of sewing, tailoring and pattern-making. He has assisted in making draperies during the museum restoration.
