The Bucks County Health Department reported their lowest four-day COVID-19 case total since before the July 4th holiday.
Between Friday through Monday evening, the county reported 92 COVID-19 positive cases. Of those cases, 18 were delayed reports.

The county reported 40 cases on Friday, 16 on Saturday, and 36 between Sunday and Monday.
Counting total cases, there was an average of 23 cases per day. Taking out delayed reports, the county reported about 19 cases per day over the four day period.
Looking at the 92 cases, 30 were caught through household contact, 14 people were infected through out-of-state travel, 13 from community spread, nine were residents or workers at longterm care facilities, four were sickened at workplaces, three were health care workers, and 19 were not able to immediately provide full interviews with contact tracers.

“Last week’s seven-day total also was the lowest rate since early July. The 210 infections reported for the week ending August 8 – an average of 30 cases per day – were the fewest since the week ending July 11, when the county averaged 29 cases per day,” a county press release said.
“We will likely continue to trend downward until we reach our ‘new’ baseline of cases here in the green phase,” Dr. David Damsker, director of the Bucks County Health Department, said in a statement. “While we can’t eliminate all COVID-19 cases, we should continue our efforts to minimize spread so that both Bucks County residents and affected Bucks County businesses can start recovering as quickly, and as safely, as possible.”

The county added two deaths to their tally. A 71-year-old woman died on August 1 and a 74-year-old man died August 7. Both had underlying health conditions.
As of Monday, a total of 21 Bucks Countians were in local hospitals due to COVID-19 and two were in critical condition on ventilators.
Since the pandemic began, 6,801 have tested positive for COVID-19, 515 deaths, and 5,715 people have recovered.
