A Bristol Township woman has been charged after an incident that happened late Wednesday night at a gas station.
Lillian Marie Nieves, 22, of the township’s Levittown section, was charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of crime with intent, reckless endangerment, simple assault, disorderly conduct, harassment, and public drunkenness.

Bristol Township officers were called to the Exxon at the corner of New Falls Road and Bristol-Oxford Valley Road around 11:45 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an armed subject at the gas station, according to papers.
Police said they arrived and found the alleged armed subject, Nieves, was on the ground. An officer reportedly asked her what happened and she screamed and ignored the question.
Nieves ended up calming down and repeated several times that she wanted to go home and call her dad. She then stated she had a hammer and “they forced me to protect myself,” police said.

An officer spoke with people who were in the gas station when Nieves was inside. One woman said Nieves appeared intoxicated and made racist comments toward customers before being asked to leave. At that time, Nieves began to argue with the woman and her husband before pulling out a hammer from her backpack. She then lunged toward the woman but her husband was able to snatch the hammer from her, police said.
As the incident escalated, Nieves tried to fight a woman. The woman pulled Nieves to the ground and was bit in the left thigh by the 22 year old, police said.

Police said the woman’s husband and another woman supported her story.
An officer and medics checked on Nieves. She refused medical treatment. When asked again what happened, Nieves “only answered with incoherent racist remarks,” police said.
Nieves was arraigned Thursday morning by District Judge Kevin Wagner and sent to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on $150,000 bail.
