As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, the United Way of Bucks County  with the help of the Colgate-Palmolive company  has stepped up to assist those in need in the community.

On Tuesday, United Way of Bucks County volunteers gathered at the HELP Center in Bristol Borough to distribute 90,000 toothbrushes to more than 52 different agencies and food pantries throughout Bucks County. The donation was provided by the Colgate-Palmolive company in order to provide hygiene items to those struggling during the COVID-19 crisis.

The HELP center seeks to provide food and various necessities to those in need in the community. It is a collaboration between United Way of Bucks County, St. Mary Medical Center, and the Bucks County Opportunity Council, with support from the Penn Community Bank. They work with various member agencies throughout the county, as well as other United Way organizations throughout PA.

While the pandemic has forced some changes to how the organization operates, they remain committed to helping those in need. Volunteers utilized masks, hand sanitizer, and temperature checks to minimize the risk of COVID-19 spreading during the event.

This week’s donation follows another donation of 72,000 rolls of toilet paper provided by Cottonelle to United Way of Bucks County recently.

These donations have allowed the organization to provide essential items to food pantries and other donation centers across the county. Donations such as these have helped United Way and their volunteers provide aid to those in need due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
