Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release last week that they are investigating a five-vehicle hit-and-run crash that injured one person on I-95 northbound earlier this month.

The chain-reaction collision occurred at 11:55 a.m. on Aug. 9 in the area of the Delaware River Bridge in Bristol Township.
Five vehicles were traveling northbound in the highway’s left lane when traffic began to quickly slow down, state police said.
Four drivers managed to slow down, but a fifth driver failed to stop, striking a vehicle from behind and triggering a series of rear-end impacts among all five vehicles, state police said.

The driver who caused the initial crash fled the scene immediately after the wreck and continued northbound into New Jersey, state police said.
Troopers did not release a description of the fleeing vehicle.

A passenger in one of the struck vehicles reported back, neck, and rib pain after the impact, state police said.
Two of the involved vehicles — a 2012 Ford Fusion and a 2014 Subaru Legacy — suffered damage that required towing from the highway.
The investigation into the hit-and-run crash is ongoing.
