After an eight-year run, the Ground Round Grill and Bar by the Oxford Valley Mall appears to have served its last burger.
The dining establishment and sports bar in Middletown Township has remained closed as COVID-19 mitigation measures were eased. The location has been removed from the company website, the phone disconnected, and the company was not available for comment.

Weeds have sprung up around the building that housed the Charlie Brown’s Steakhouse until Ground Round opened in January 2012.

A sign in the doorway said the Ground Round was closing due to the pandemic and it was dated mid-March.
The neighboring TGI Friday’s and Bertucci’s Brick Oven Pizza and Pasta have reopened for dining.

Ground Round started in 1969 and was founded by hotel and eatery chain Howard Johnson’s. The chain shrunk over the years and is now owned by Maine-based Independent Owners Cooperative. Only 15 Ground Round locations remain.
