UPDATE: As Of Thursday Morning, 5,550 Customers Remain Without Power In Area
Early Wednesday afternoon rain and gusty winds caused more than 12,650 customers in the Levittown area to lose electric service.
As of 3:30 p.m., the majority of those 12,650 customers in the region remained in the dark. Traffic lights were out across Lower Bucks County and generators powered many during outages.

Tree limbs, utility lines, and entire trees were downed throughout the area following the storm.
PECO trucks were spotted responding to numerous outages in the area.
The sound of chainsaws could be heard throughout Bristol Township’s Croydon section as the cleanup was underway.

Kevin Dippolito, who is Bristol Township’s Fire Marshal and heads the emergency management office, said four suites in an industrial building were damaged when the roof lifted and then collapsed in the building. No injuries were reported.
On Inlet Road, a tree crashed through a second floor of a home. The residents were home but no injuries, Dippolito said.

Nearby, Newportville Road was closed as trees and limbs blocked the roadway between Hilary Avenue and Prospect Avenue.
Trees were reported down in Bristol Township and Tullytown’s Levittown section.

In Falls Township, downed wire caused Bristol-Oxford Valley Road to be closed between Twin Oak Drive and Trenton Road.

In Bristol Borough, downed branches and leaves littered Radcliffe Street. At Second Avenue and Warren Street, a power line was brought down by a tree.

Crews used a chainsaw to clear limbs that fell along Maple Avenue in Langhorne Borough.

On the campus of Cairn University in Langhorne Manor Borough, a large tree was felled along East Fairview Avenue.
Following the storms, clouds made way for sunny skies as the cleanup was underway. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was issued until 10 p.m. Wednesday for possible additional storms.
