PennDOT officials said that is about to change.

Starting next Monday and continuing through Friday, June 5, PennDOT will mill and repave Winchester Avenue between Pine Street (Route 413) and Bridgetown Pike. The work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.

Lane closures with flaggers controlling the flow of traffic will be in place for the project, PennDOT officials said.

The state transportation agency advised drivers to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone.

The Winchster Avenue repaving work is part of PennDOT’s effort to repair and resurface more than 200 miles of state roadways in the Philadelphia region.

Due to COVID-19, crews will work with federal and state health guidance for social distancing, use of face coverings, personal and job-site cleaning protocols, management of entries to the job site, special signage, and relevant training.
