A local grocery store worker has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a letter to customers, Redner’s Markets CEO Ryan Redner announced that an employee at the store in the Langhorne Square Shopping Center tested positive for COVID-19.

The employee self-quarantined once they noticed symptoms on Saturday, March 21, Redner said.

The company said the store will be closed Thursday for cleaning and sanitation of entire facility and all equipment.

The store is set to reopen to the public at 6 a.m. on Friday.

“Outbreaks such as the COVID-19 can cause public worry and uncertainty but know that we will continue to follow all recommended precautions and protection measures,” Redner wrote in a public letter.

As part of the governor’s stay-at-home order, grocery stores are considered as essential businesses that are permitted to have retail locations open to the public.

Redner’s Market, like other grocery stores, shifted hours during the COVID-19 outbreak and promised customers increased cleaning efforts.
