Plans are in play to improve the crosswalk that connects the Summit Square Shopping Center and the George School in Middletown.
The Middletown Board of Supervisors recently approved an application for PennDOT and the George School to upgrade the crosswalk along Newtown-Langhorne Road (Route 413).

The plans call for the crosswalk to be restriped, additional warning signs, and new flashers.
The current crosswalk is marked and sits on the crest of the hill along the busy roadway that connects to the Newtown Bypass. There are flashing warning lights and orange flags for students to carry as they cross the road.
Last year, two students were hurt after they were struck by a vehicle.
