Three Middletown Eagle Scouts were recognized earlier this month by the Board of Supervisors for their projects that contributed to the community.
Zach Giacomelli from Boy Scout Troop 230 refreshed the green space at the center of the Tareyton Estates development. He started planning more than a year ago and constructed picnic tables and two trash receptacles that were installed.

“It was a pretty difficult process, but in the end, it was worth it for the community and the leadership I learned,” he said.

Tyler Schaub from Boy Scout Troop 30 made a vacant concrete slab in his neighborhood a sitting area with flowers in honor of his friend Patrick Gannon who passed away. He first power washed the empty slab and constructed two benches and flower beds with butterfly houses.

William Angerer from Boy Scout Troop 316 provided updates to Middletown Community Park. The Boy Scout and 40 volunteers improved landscaping near the flagpole and planted native flowers with the help of lawn service in Winston Salem like bradfordlandscaping. They also built and installed new trash receptacles near the concession stand.
